Goodbye, Ma & Pa! Hello, Windy City!

Goodbye, Ma & Pa! Hello, Windy City!

“Remy, you’re the cutest….Jimbo, don’t worry. You’ll be the cutest by next week.”
That had been the usual running dialogue within the family for the past week as we prepared for Remy’s big move to Denver. While we’d fawn over Remy, his large head, cuddly nature, and free kisses, Jimbo would walk away in a huff–put [...]

Halloween!

Halloween!

Halloween for us was a 2 day event this year, starting Saturday with the “STRUT YOUR MUTT” CANINE HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE at Brookdale Park, NJ and ending on Sunday night with a flock of trick-or-treaters “oooohing” & “ahhhing” at Jimbo’s embarrassing halloween costume. Several people complemented him on his outfit, and even though he didn’t [...]

Jimbo on the Shore

Jimbo on the Shore

Jimbo on the Shore from Jude Tibay on Vimeo.

We walk across the street, to make it to the boardwalk separating us from the bulldog covered beach. Jimbo, too excited and not the least bit self conscious, hurls himself onto the 1ft raised platform and lands on his tummy, his front paws splayed out before him [...]

Jimbo’s Extended Bday

Jimbo’s Extended Bday

Jimbo’s Bday Pupcake from Jude Tibay on Vimeo.

…..more toys….and an edible cupcake….Jimbo is so spoiled. But that’s okay cause he just turned 1! Of course we had to wait for Joy to come home from work and school before the festivities could begin. Still, he got to enjoy a car ride, a nice long walk, a [...]

Jimbo’s 1st Bday Cake

Jimbo’s 1st Bday Cake

Jimbo: “Hi! I just wanted to thank everyone for making my 1st birthday awwwwwesome! I got to go for a fun car ride (windows down and everything) to a doggy bakery where I picked out a pupcake just for me. Then I went for an extra long walk in the park where I got admiring [...]

A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

Jimbo: A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing from Jude Tibay on Vimeo.
After several weekends of felting, sewing, hot-glue-gunning, Joy and Fae nearly complete there doggy-costume masterpiece. A sheep costume – or more aptly – a “wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing” costume for our beloved English bulldog Jimbo.

Cone Head

Cone Head

Jimbo at 9 months old… he’s endearing, in a bone-headed sort of way. Here he is pictured with his cone head. He had to get surgery to treat his “cherry eye” – when a dog’s 3rd eyelid “pops out” thus appearing like a tumor poking out the corner of his eye.

At the Dog Park

At the Dog Park

Jimbo at the Dog Park from Jude Tibay on Vimeo.
Jimbo makes his weekly visit to Brookdale Dog Park (www.brookdaledogpark.org) in Montclair, NJ. Since he’s still a puppy, Joy and Fae take him to the pen intended for small dogs, but he’s greeted with a nasty welcome from several vicious miniature dogs. After much bullying from [...]

Snow Day!

Snow Day!

Photos by Fae & Joy
Jimbo is loving the snow during New Jersey’s first real winter storm of the season (translate “snow day”).

Naughty!

Naughty!

Photos by Fae Tibay
“What’s this green fuzz, Jimbo?” Fae looks behind Jimbo and to his crate. A side of his bed is torn up, bleeding the plush green fuzz within. What a naughty puppy. For being well trained and disciplined in walking and eating, he sure has his bouts of destruction. He must be in [...]

Futurity Match

Futurity Match

The gates open. The cameras flash. And Jimbo throws up a little. Was he getting stage fright, or was he getting choked by the collar? Jimbo was competing with 2 other young bullies his age and gender. One of them was his handsomely stout brother Arlo, showed by his owner Helen DeAmicis – also the [...]

Sarcastic Placemat

Sarcastic Placemat

We picked up this sarcastic placemat for Jimbo at a pet store in Breckenridge, Colorado. I won’t lie. It smells like “nasty dry crap”. It probably tastes like nasty dry crap.

Shredder

Shredder

This is a great action shot taken by Fae. Joy came home with a new toy for Jimbo… a sheep rag doll. The strands hanging from the woolen clump used to be knots for legs. I heard it took but a day to “deconstruct” this masterpiece. Click here to see what it used to look [...]

Jimbo Double-Sized

Jimbo Double-Sized

I have been away from my family’s home for nearly 4 weeks, and missing Jimbo terribly. My sisters are kind enough to photography Jimbo with my spare DSLR and lenses while I am away, so we can post them online and so that I can catch Jimbo’s progress.
Apparently, Jimbo has learned how to fetch, on [...]

Jimbo Starts Training

Jimbo Starts Training

Joy hired an obedience instructor to come to the house to train not only Jimbo but the family on obedience this weekend. Joy & Fae will be writing some more about what happened, but in the meantime photos they took over the weekend:

(Joy & Fae will be writing about Jimbo’s infatuation with this bone. In the meantime, photos!)
